I'd be interested to hear your take on friendly-AGI - spent a lot of last night down an Eliezer Yudkowsky rabbit hole after reading the latest news. His community is pretty alarmist, on the other side of the fence we see a lot of lefty types (to which I tend to count myself) who find these ideas pretty laughable and argue that a superhuman AI/singularity is never gonna happen. Reading the old lesswrong stuff last night I was reminded a bit of your writings on crypto and how there seem to be two main camps - evangelical and completely anti. This seems to be the case here and I'd be very very interested in hearing your take on this!
